 HBO “Boardwalk Empire” filming in NY

The final season of the Emmy winning TV drama “Boardwalk Empire” is now filming in the New York area. The casting directors for the project have been releasing quite a few casting notices including the one listed below for “ladies who can rumba”. The show will be filming a large scene that involves a some dancing.

The scene will film on 4/21 & 22 and if you are a New York resident that knows how to rumba, and appears to be Cuban, you can get a spot on set as a paid extra. Now, if you don’t know what a Rumba is but would like to try anyway.

Whether you can get your boogie on or not, you still would need to be local to New York because the casting directors are only going to be using local talent. For those that do not get HBO and maybe have never seen “Boardwalk Empire“, the Emmy Award winning series is set in 1920?s – 1930?s…. so you would also need to have a natural look that may fit into that time period.

The show is set in Atlantic City during the prohibition era and is loosely based on the book written by Nelson Johnson called Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City . Steve Buscemi stars in the show as the corrupt politician, Nucky Thompson, anti-hero of sorts. Cuban Rumba Ladies, here you go… oh, remember, gotta be able to Rumba!
