Plain truth on Headshots

Plain truth on Headshots

Ok folks just got off the phone with a casting director and here is the skinny on actors headshots! She told me out of the 16 people who submitted, only two had headshots that she said were worthy of submitting to anyone. The rest, she said should go in the garbage.

She said, "your headshots are your calling card and must be the very perfect best thing you ever have as a tool". I hate to keep whipping a dead horse but the point is, make SURE your headshots are epic. Because casting directors do not even bother to look past the headshot when looking at submissions... UNLESS the headshot "jumps out at them", AND it is exactly what they are looking for in a certain role.

So make absolutely sure that your headshot is the very best quality , updated and representation of who you are at this moment. And have multiple headshots for each look that you can portray at a given time. That way, you can't go wrong!

“What’s Catchier Than A Selfie?”

“What’s Catchier Than A Selfie?”

“Get Brownie Points At The Office”

Want to make a good impression at work? Suggest us for corporate portraits at your headquarters or send them to our studio in Old City. We will mention you and provide a 10% discount from “You”. We make new contacts, you look like a rockstar, and everyone wins!

“The Headshot is the NEW Handshake”

Its essential in the 21st century to look your best for employers during a quick web search. Having a professional headshot that presents the way you and your environment look now will help increase your chances of finding work. Avoid using photos that include other people , a couple of years old, or cellphone image. The former comes off as lazy; the latter can seem deceptive if your looks have drastically changed since the picture was taken. Create consistency by using the same style of photo for a number of social networks like LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. They don’t all have to be the same but they should all represent the same person.

“The World Peering In”

In today’s modern age with all the social media: facebook, linkedin, twitter, Instagram and so on it’s critical that we showcase ourselves as we wish the world to see us. People tap into your life through these social media websites and peer into your world. I offer Lifestyle photo sessions to showcase the way you want to be viewed. Its a natural photojournalistic approach that has a modern contemporary feel to it. No one wants to see overly posed photographs that appear to pretentious, but rather natural and artistic photographs. Images say it all. If you are running your own business, looking for employment, getting back into the dating scene, or simply longing for images of you with your loved ones for memory keepsakes this is perfect solution. I offer on location and or in studio sessions. I adore to think outside the box and document my subjects as they are not what I think it should be.

Fall Special : Refer a friend for wedding, event, or portrait session and they will receive 10% discount from you as a gift. Offer ends November 1st, 2014.
