OPEN CASTING CALL WHAT TO DO , the best thing to do is just show up! If I post an email for those who can't show up, it is simply a backup for the casting team. There would not be an open call if there was not a simple need to find LOCAL people. So with that said, next time you see an OPEN CASTING CALL, just show up. Don't be lazy and try to submit to an email address. Casting directors will only hire those who show up at the event. The old adage "Be There Or Be Square" really is real within the Entertainment Industry!

Casting directors will be auditioning female vocalists at 10:00 AM and both male and female vocalists at 02:00 PM - Sign-in: at 9:00 AM and at 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Disney Cruise Line® is seeking talented and versatile musical theatre vocalists for entertainment productions on our luxury cruise liners, the Disney Magic® and the Disney Wonder®, sailing on voyages to Bahamian and Caribbean ports. Hiring a repertory Company of 19 performers to bring to life four musical theatre style productions. Contracts begin September 2014 for approximately nine months and include competitive pay, room and board, guest sailing privileges, additional benefits package and no cruise staff duty.

Seeking the following roles:

FEMALE LION KING VOCALIST: Female, 20s- 30s, 5’4”- 5’7”, principal vocalist of African-heritage with a rich, soulful, gospel sound. Able to bring down the house. Also sings “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.” MALE LION KING VOCALIST: Male, 20s-30s, 5’8” – 6’, vocalist of African-heritage.

Extremely strong singer. Physically in good shape. Sings “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.” Soaring Tenor.

Requirements:

Performers must be at least 18 years of age

Please provide a current headshot and resume

Please prepare 16 bars of a musical selection and provide sheet music in the correct key

Some performers may be asked to learn a small movement combination. Please attend only one call. Vocalists do not have to attend multiple calls to be considered for multiple roles.

Johnny Depp’s “Black Mass” Open Call for speaking roles, bit parts & extras

Warner Bros Pictures, “Black Mass” starring Johnny Depp will be holding an open casting call in Boston

The film’s casting directors at CP Casting are looking to fill many roles including some speaking parts, featured extras, bit roles and general extras. They are looking for all ages, types and ethnicities but are especially interested in Italian Wise Guy types, tough guys, politician types and those with Boston accents.

“Black Mass” will begin filming in Boston on May 19 and continue through July 30. Those who apply and are cast for the project need to have availability for daytime filming between mid May and late July.

Photos will be taken at the open casting call and since some of this is for speaking roles, certain people will be given a few lines to read for casting directors.

Johnny Depp stars as the notorious Irish American mobster James “Whitey” Bulger. Whitey was the inspiration for the Jack Nicholson character of Frank Costello in the Martin Scorsese film, “The Departed“. The film is inspired by “Black Mass: The True Story of an Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob“, a New York Times best seller.

The entertainment news site Deadline reports that Tom Hardy may star opposite Johnny Depp as John Conneley, the FBI agent. Scott Cooper (“Out of The Furnace“) will direct the project.

In a recent interview, Johnny Depp commented on his upcoming role as Whitey Bulger

“The reason to play it is obvious to me,” said the three-time Oscar nominee. “He’s a fascinating character. I don’t think it’s like anything I’ve done before and I’m very excited to slide into that skin for a little bit.”
