CASTING : Philly Dancers



Philly Dancers :

Auditions will be held on January 17, 2016 from 2-4 pm and are by appointment only. Please email takeitawaydance@gmail.com to reserve a spot.

Dancers should be:

- Able to demonstrate advanced tap technique;

- Able to interpret and perform a variety of movement styles;

- Skilled at learning choreography quickly and accurately;

- Very comfortable improvising with live music;

- Available for 2-3 hours of rehearsal a week.

*Take It Away Dance presents the most innovative tap dance and live music projects in Philadelphia. Inspired by diverse musical influences, ranging from classical to jazz to hip hop/R&B, it is fueled by the power of collaboration and presents works that demonstrate current interpretations of percussive dance, live music, vocals and interdisciplinary forms. Take It Away Dance has been presented by Small Stakes, Jazz Bridge and the Philadelphia Jazz Project and has pioneered efforts to restage and perform the works of master tap choreographers Dorothy Wasserman, Heather Cornell and Max Pollak. Take It Away Dance is directed by Pamela Hetherington, a Philadelphia native, tap dancer, choreographer and** educator with a passionate interest in pushing tap dance into new, innovative directions.
